Oil Spill Jobs Hopefully Replace Some Of The Losses In Gulf Of Mexico

Author: The U.S. Travel Association (whoever they are) just published a study saying that the Gulf Coast region will lose approximately $23 billion in tourism profits, and it may take three years (if we’re lucky) to clean up the beaches well enough for vacationers to come on back in their usual large numbers.
Hopefully, though, there will be at least some of the BP oil spill disaster burden relieved by the new and various oil spill jobs that abound because this Gulf oil leak is sooooooo big.
Take a look at this map. The good ol’ New York Times has been doing a great job of showing us graphically where the oil is and where it’s profoundly come ashore.

You can see the entire area of the Gulf that the oil’s affecting, and you can see the coast line marked with yellow, red, and dark red signifying the level of oil that has washed ashore.
Folks, this is just the beginning. What you see on the oil spill map above it The Beginning Only. We are 3 months out from the beginning of the oil spill, and it’s only been shut off for a week now. And there’s much talk about the well having to be reopened or the possibility of the oil pressure on the surrounding seafloor from the out-of-control oil is so bad that it could just start erupting from anywhere.
I know that we’re supposed to be all excited about the prospects of the oil spill jobs careers lasting for decades…and I am. But I sure do hope that the oil doesn’t just exploded through the bottom of the ocean! Apparently, that will be exponentially more difficult to control. I can’t even imagine.
So, here we are, and let’s say the remains of Deepwater Horizon’s blown well head never drips another drop of crude ever again. We still will have a massive need for more hires in the oil spill jobs revolution going on in Florida, Alabama, Mississippi, Louisiana, and Texas. There will be mountains of need of oil spill job workers in many area. Let’s go somewhere with this we haven’t gone before…
Administrative Oil Spill Jobs: More and More and More Oil Spill Job Specialties
Administrative oil spill jobs: There are and will be many oil spill administrative positions for many years surrounding the Gulf of Mexico. Pretty much any industry you can think of will likely have multiple “on-site oil spill experts” that are full-time, in-house consultants guiding companies on any decisions that have to be made about the BP oil spill and other employees directly involved in the oil spill jobs.
These special, new oil spill management jobs do some functions like an oil spill lawyer might as far as advising the company what is likely legally permissible and not legally permissible. There will be oil spill consultants, oil spill advisers, oil spill managers, oil spill supervisors, oil spill executives…all matter of administrative oil spill jobs including the “foreman” or “shift leader.” These last two are the oil spill upper management’s “front line” in making sure corporate policies are adhered to by the majority workers.
This is just ONE of the specializations that the BP oil spill jobs positions will be seeing more and more of. There are plenty other specialties in the oil spill job field that we’ll discuss later.

Gulf of Mexico 2010 Hurricane Season and Effect on Oil Spill Jobs

Often times in dealing with the Gulf oil spill, Mother Nature’s furious hand comes in and temporarily puts a halt to the oil spill jobs currently going. This is especially true for the work being done over the old Deepwater Horizon site about 50 southeast of the delta’d mouth of the Mississippi river.
As we speak, there is a tropical disturbance sitting right about the midway point between Northern Haiti and the south end of the Turks and Caicos islands (they look like an extension of the Bahamas…just further south and east.)
Because of this, the Coast Guard — who has final say-so when it comes to judgment calls for oil spill jobs on the safety of a particular maneuver, construction plan, or when the weather takes a turn for the worse — is making tentative plans to get out of the open Gulf of Mexico waters ASAP should the tropical disturbance become a “Tropical OMG!”

Giant Oil Skimmer “A WHALE” Doesn’t Work… Looks Like We’ll Need Thousands More Oil Workers To Clean This Spill
Just when you think your oil spill job opportunity is about to “get shipped overseas,” super-sized foreign technology fails and good ol’ massive numbers of people working their oil spill cleanup jobs saves the day.
Yes, it’s true. The news just came out today released on NOAA’s official outlet for BP oil spill updates.
A WHALE Doesn't Work
Remember the world’s largest supertanker-oil skimmer owned by Taiwan that was going to “save us all” by doing the work of thousands of smaller boats in a fraction of the time.
Guess what: It Doesn’t Work!
According to the press release, during the 24 hour test of A WHALE, the amount of oil captured was “negligible.”
More importantly, while the Superskimmer test was going on, Unified Area Command (the body of government AND corporate interests overseeing the oil cleanup) had its own “control” going by doing conventional oil cleanup in the Gulf at the same time A WHALE was at work.
While the massive oil skimmer was able to do nothing, the Unified Command group did this:
- 590 smaller boats removed 25551 barrels of “Oil Water”
- Conducted 26 controlled burns
- Recovered 12800 barrels of oil at the source
Pretty impressive, huh?
What does this mean to you when you’re looking for some kind of employment in the BP oil cleanup?
It means that they will need more workers to do the job because their miracle cures for the Gulf oil spill — like using A WHALE to do the job of many conventional workers — just ain’t working.
More and more personnel will be necessary to do the oil spill jobs because there is NO OTHER WAY to do it. No mechanical savior from Taiwan will do it.
Your oil work in the Gulf of Mexico is secured once again.

OMG – The Ticker’s Stopped (For Now) – Still Jobs To Clean Up Gulf Oil Spill
Today is Saturday, July 17, 2010. And for the first time since I posted the oil ticker, it has stopped running.
New 75 Ton Cap On Gulf Oil Leak
This is because for the past two days, BP has been testing out a new cap on the blown oil well.
So, for the time being. The leak has stopped. Does this mean now that the oil spill jobs have stopped?
Absolutely not! The oil spill jobs are still available and will still be needed. In fact, because of the nature of oil spills: hiring of workers to cleanup the oil and for other oil recovery measures will likely last 20 years and more.
